Operations / Naming

File naming so we instantly know what can be sold and where.

A clear name on each file saves time every day. This unit shows how we like content labelled so the team can see at a glance what it is, how strong it is and where it belongs in your page.

Goal

Turn every file name into a short label that tells us the date, type, strength and use case, so content is easy to plug into posts and offers.

The naming pattern we use

We keep names short, structured and consistent. One simple pattern is enough.

Format:

YYYYMMDD_type_strength_use-location_short-note

  • YYYYMMDD is the shoot date.
  • type is photo, clip or set.
  • strength is light, medium or heavy depending on how far it goes.
  • use-location is feed, story, PPV, custom or promo.
  • short-note is a few words about the look.

Example: 20250312_clip_medium_ppv_red-set-bedroom.mp4

Tags for content type

We only need a few tags to cover most content.

Type tag examples

  • photo for single images.
  • set for photo sets.
  • clip for short videos.
  • scene for longer videos.

Why it helps

  • We know straight away if it fits a story, post or PPV slot.
  • We can build bundles faster because sets and scenes are easy to find.

Tags for strength level

Not every clip should be sold the same way. Strength tags help us separate light, medium and heavy content for the right buyers.

Common tags

  • light for safe, softer content.
  • medium for stronger but still standard paid content.
  • heavy for your highest level scenes.

How we use them

  • Light suits feed, stories and smaller PPV.
  • Medium sits in the middle of your pricing ladder.
  • Heavy is saved for top tier PPV, customs and key buyers.

Tags for where it should live

This tag tells us the first place that clip or set should be used.

  • feed for main page posts.
  • story for twenty four hour previews.
  • ppv for paid DMs.
  • custom for one person orders.
  • promo for public teasers and socials.

We can still move content across uses later, but this tag gives us a clear starting point.

Short notes that actually help

The note at the end should be a few words that help you and the team remember the look.

Good notes

  • red-lingerie-bed
  • white-shirt-mirror
  • shower-glass-silhouette

What to avoid

  • Notes that are too long or vague.
  • Private real life names or locations.
  • Slang that nobody else will understand later.

How a shoot day looks with this system

After a shoot, upload and naming should be quick and repeatable.

Step one

Move all new files into the right top level folders in your drive or Dropbox.

Step two

Rename each file with date, type, strength, use and a short note. You can batch rename groups that share the same tags.

Step three

Let the Prosper team know uploads are done so we can start planning where each piece will be used.

Rules that keep naming consistent

The value is in everyone following the same pattern.

  • Use the same order for tags every time.
  • Use the same words for type and strength instead of changing them.
  • Do not add emojis or random symbols into file names.
  • Tell us if you want to add or remove a tag so we adjust on our side too.

Once this naming pattern is in place, your folders stop feeling random. The team can open a drive, search for exactly what they need and turn more of your shoots into money with less back and forth.
